What is the standard chemical composition of Runxing Chromium Carbide Overlay (CCO) plates?

Our standard RX®wp 7600 wear plates incorporate a high concentration of carbon (3.5% to 5.5%) and chromium (25% to 40%). This ratio guarantees a microstructure dense with primary M7C3 hexagonal carbides, securing a stable surface hardness range of 58 to 62 HRC.

How are CCO wear plates welded and cut on-site in Kenyan cement plants?

Our bimetallic plates can be easily cut using plasma arc equipment or high-velocity abrasive waterjet systems (laser cutting is also supported). They cannot be cut with conventional oxy-fuel gas. They can be installed on-site via stud welding, counter-bored bolt holes, or structural back-welding directly using E7018 type low-hydrogen manual electrodes on the mild steel backing plate.

Why do crack patterns appear on the hardfacing surface of the overlay wear plates?

These hairline transverse checks or cracks are stress-relief cracks. They are entirely normal and form naturally during the automated welding process due to the thermal expansion differences between the high-alloy deposit and the mild steel base plate. They do not compromise the wear resistance and do not penetrate into the backing steel.
