In high-output sectors like modern cement plants, open-pit mining, iron and steel smelting, coal-fired power plants, and maritime cargo ports, key components face unrelenting mechanical friction and thermal degradation. Operating margins depend directly on component lifespan and maintenance cycles.
As a leading OEM Welding Plant Manufacturer, Tangshan Runxing Machinery Co., Ltd. resolves these micro-abrasion problems through advanced surface engineering. By replacing traditional structural steel plates with chromium carbide overlay (CCO) wear plates and bimetallic composite steel plates, industrial operators experience up to a 10-fold increase in component durability. This transitions maintenance strategies from emergency reactive repairs to long-term planned maintenance programs.
Achieve 5x to 10x durability over standard carbon steel plates in abrasive environments.
Substantially decrease unplanned downtime and labor costs for equipment replacement.
Founded in 2010 in Tangshan, Hebei Province, Tangshan Runxing Machinery Co., Ltd. has established itself as an authoritative manufacturer focusing on the R&D, production, and on-site construction services of metal surface hardfacing technology. Located in China's industrial heartland, our company maintains a strong focus on metallurgic quality, advanced automated overlay welding equipment, and custom-engineered wear plate fabrication.
To support global trade compliance and provide seamless international transactions, all our export business is authorized and handled exclusively by Hebei Yuwan International Trade Co., Ltd. This specialized trading partner coordinates customs clearances, international shipments, complex document controls, and financial collections. This division of operations allows our engineering team in the factory to focus entirely on quality assurance, product innovation, and reliable production schedules.
Our engineered wear liners and cladding solutions are fully compliant with DIN 8555, ASTM G65 abrasive wear standards, and various international industrial codes. With a proven track record in Russia, Central Asia, South Africa, and South America, we adapt our designs to meet localized environmental conditions (extreme cold, heavy dynamic shock, high-temperature oxidation) and fulfill regional certification requirements.
Our Chromium Carbide Overlays (CCO) feature a high concentration of primary M7C3 hexagonal carbides embedded in a tough eutectic matrix. The carbide volume fraction is maintained between 35% and 45%, providing resistance to severe abrasive scratching. Typical surface hardness ranges from HRC 58 to 65.
By using automated multi-gun open-arc surfacing, we carefully manage penetration into the backing plate (typically Q235B or Q355B structural steel). Dilution of the base steel is minimized, ensuring the overlay maintains over 25% chromium and 4.0-5.5% carbon contents in the outer wear layer.
The metallurgical bond between the hard cladding and base steel plate yields a high shear strength (>250 MPa). This ensures the overlay remains firmly attached even under continuous thermal cycling and moderate mechanical impact, preventing spalling or peeling.
Traditional wear plates relied on homogeneous through-hardened steels (such as manganese steels or AR400/500 alloys). While tough, these materials lack the microstructural constituents required to resist scratching by silica, quartz, and other minerals that exceed 1000 HV in hardness. Hypereutectic chromium carbide overlays provide an engineered solution by distributing hard chromium-carbide crystals (hardness of 1200–1600 HV) throughout a ductile matrix. This composite architecture handles localized pressure while resisting brittle fracture.
In addition, our research collaboration with Germany's VAUTID has enabled us to optimize the crystalline structure of our flux-cored wires. By utilizing fine-grained additions, we refine the primary M7C3 grains, creating a dense, wear-resistant grain boundary network. This provides improved protection against micro-cutting, fatigue, and chemical oxidation at elevated temperatures.
Equipment availability is essential for cement plants. Our CCO plates protect vertical mill separator guides, classifier cones, and raw material feed chutes from high-speed abrasive clinker dust and raw feed inputs.
For open-pit and underground mining, we deliver heavy-duty liners for haul truck bodies, loader buckets, conveyor transfer points, and chute systems. These help operators withstand rock impact and slurry wear.
Operating conditions in steel mills involve high heat and corrosion. We manufacture overlay plates and rebuild continuous caster rolls, charging hoppers, and sinter break stars that operate under elevated temperatures.
For coal-fired generation plants, we provide wear protection solutions for coal pulverizer components, fan housings, boiler hopper liners, exhaust dust removal piping, and pneumatic conveying systems.
Bulk handling ports face wear on loading/unloading conveyor chutes and hopper bins. Our wear-resistant liners protect steel infrastructure from continuous high-tonnage iron ore, coal, and grain impact.
When high-velocity fine particles cause erosion at moderate angles, we supply high-purity sintered alumina ceramics. These can be integrated with steel backings for hybrid ceramic-steel wear protection.
Using our precision plasma cutting, rolling, and forming machinery, we fabricate complete complex components from CCO plates according to client blueprints, offering ready-to-install parts.
Using submerged arc welding, we restore worn crusher rolls, vertical mill grinding table tires, and conveyor rollers to extend their service life beyond original OEM specifications.

The industrial surface wear industry is moving toward resource conservation and lower carbon emissions. Replacing worn components requires intensive steel manufacturing and transportation. Hardfacing technology offers a sustainable alternative by extending the operational lifespan of existing steel components and reducing overall carbon emissions.
Our research and development efforts focus on three key areas:
Standard hardened steel (like AR400 or AR500) has a martensitic structure with uniform hardness. While tough, it can be scratched by silica sand and hard minerals. Chromium Carbide Overlays (CCO) feature primary M7C3 carbides (1200-1600 HV) embedded in a ductile eutectic alloy matrix. This structure deflects abrasive particles while the backing plate absorbs mechanical impacts.
Yes. CCO plates can be cold-formed within limits depending on thickness. Bending is typically performed with the wear surface inward (forming a curve that puts the overlay in compression) to prevent the micro-cracks in the cladding from widening. For tight radii, warm forming or custom segmented section designs are recommended.
The cracks observed on the surface of CCO plates are stress-relief cracks. They form naturally during the high-temperature welding overlay process as the alloy layer contracts. These cracks terminate at the fusion interface and do not penetrate the structural steel backing. They are normal and do not affect the plate's abrasive wear performance.
Hebei Yuwan is the authorized global trading agent for Tangshan Runxing Machinery Co., Ltd. They handle export processing, customs clearances, international compliance documentation, logistics, and payment collection. This allows our factory teams to focus on manufacturing and quality control.
Each production run undergoes carbon and sulfur analysis, alongside optical emission spectrometry (OES) to monitor chromium levels. Standardized ASTM G65 dry sand rubber wheel testing is also used to evaluate abrasion resistance and maintain consistent performance across batches.
Partnering with Germany's VAUTID provides our team access to high-performance welding consumables and formulations. We combine this technical support with our local manufacturing capacity to deliver high-quality wear protection products.
