1. What is a Chromium Carbide Overlay (CCO) wear plate, and how does it benefit cement mills?
A Chromium Carbide Overlay (CCO) plate comprises a structural steel base plate (such as ASTM A36 or Q235 carbon steel) cladded with a highly alloyed wear deposit. This deposit features primary chromium-rich carbides (M7C3) embedded in a tough austenitic matrix. In cement vertical roller mills (VRMs), cyclones, and chutes, CCO plates resist extreme abrasive wear from raw meal and clinker, extending service lifetimes up to ten times compared to mild carbon steels.

We offer flexible solutions for grinding roll and table repairs. For customers with access to regional facilities, we supply specialized self-shielded flux-cored hardfacing wires and compact automatic welding equipment for local repairs. Alternatively, components can be sent to our Tangshan facility, where we utilize heavy-duty, multi-axis automated surfacing systems to reconstruct worn profiles back to original specifications.
5. What customization options are available for OEM wear liners?
We provide full-scope customization. Based on customer CAD drawings or on-site dimensions, we cut, roll, press-form, and weld CCO plates into complex geometries, including transition cones, hopper linings, fan casings, and pipeline elbows. Countersunk mounting holes, threaded studs, and welded tabs can be integrated directly onto the backing plate to simplify field installation.
